The Data Visualization Designer is responsible for designing and enforcing common standards for data infographics and visualizations, ensuring that our data-driven narratives are cohesive, accessible, and visually compelling. The ideal candidate combines technical data visualization skills with a data journalist's eye for storytelling, producing visuals that drive insight and action across a range of data types and topics. Collaborate directly with analysts and data scientists to understand key data and industry insights Embed insightful and thought-provoking analytic results in static as well as interactive data visualizations to clearly communicate data stories and visually highlight key trends, changes, patterns, and anomalies to a variety of audiences Distill qualitative data to add context and color to quantitative insights Help to develop new and innovative interfaces for complex analytical data produced by machine learning and artificial intelligence systems Share and apply data analytic approaches and solutions, new visualization standards and research visualization approaches Maintain data visualization style guide and toolkit using principles of graphical excellence Provide visual, technical and editorial guidance to ensure consistency of business insights and alignment of offline and platform-based deliverables Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Data Visualization, Graphic Design, Data Science, Journalism, or a related field. Well versed in healthcare, visual communication, and data technologies At least 3+ years of experience in data visualization, information design, or data journalism. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of data visualizations, including infographics and interactive data stories. Advanced proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and D3.js, along with experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) or Figma. Ability to transform complex data sets into accessible visuals that communicate insights clearly. Working knowledge of data analysis and preparation, with experience in SQL, Python, or R considered a plus. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data narratives to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. High attention to detail, especially in data accuracy, layout, and design consistency. Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support custom data visualizations. Background in UX/UI design, particularly for creating user-friendly, data-rich interfaces. Education Bachelor's degree in Data Visualization, Graphic Design, Data Science, Information Design, or a related field.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $95,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
