Our client, one of the worlds leading media and entertainment companies, is looking to hire a
Broadcast Engineer
to join their team
in Stamford, CT! *** This begins as a
6-month contract
with any opportunity to extend/convert *** Responsibilities Perform system-level troubleshooting of technical facilities, including control rooms, studio equipment, audio equipment, and associated computer systems. Conduct preventative maintenance on studio and control room equipment. Assist Studio Operations with technical setup in control rooms and studios. Collaborate with production and operations teams to implement technical solutions that meet production initiatives. Install and update equipment and systems software. Repair and troubleshoot equipment to the module level using industry-standard test equipment. Manage projects, design systems, and assist with system integration and commissioning. Requirements 2+ years of experience in a television broadcast environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. BS degree in Engineering, Communications, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience. Proficiency with broadcast production systems and software, including audio consoles, intercom systems, video switchers, wireless audio, server-based playout, and test and measurement equipment. Understanding of TCP/IP networks. Knowledge of digital TV (HDSDI). Proficiency in software-driven broadcast video equipment. Ability to read and understand system signal flow diagrams for television control room and studio facilities. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and focused under the pressures of live television. Strong hands-on problem-solving skills with broadcast-related equipment and systems. Understanding of the urgent needs of on-air sports and the ability to remain productive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Ability to support a 24x7 production environment. Willingness and ability to learn new production technologies. Preferred experience in live production environments. Knowledge of computer server installation and maintenance.
