Our client, one of the worlds leading media and entertainment companies, is looking to hire a Broadcast Engineer to join their team in Stamford, CT!
*** This begins as a 6-month contract with any opportunity to extend/convert ***
Responsibilities
- Perform system-level troubleshooting of technical facilities, including control rooms, studio equipment, audio equipment, and associated computer systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on studio and control room equipment.
- Assist Studio Operations with technical setup in control rooms and studios.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to implement technical solutions that meet production initiatives. Install and update equipment and systems software.
- Repair and troubleshoot equipment to the module level using industry-standard test equipment.
- Manage projects, design systems, and assist with system integration and commissioning.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a television broadcast environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- BS degree in Engineering, Communications, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proficiency with broadcast production systems and software, including audio consoles, intercom systems, video switchers, wireless audio, server-based playout, and test and measurement equipment.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networks. Knowledge of digital TV (HDSDI).
- Proficiency in software-driven broadcast video equipment.
- Ability to read and understand system signal flow diagrams for television control room and studio facilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and focused under the pressures of live television.
- Strong hands-on problem-solving skills with broadcast-related equipment and systems.
- Understanding of the urgent needs of on-air sports and the ability to remain productive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Ability to support a 24x7 production environment.
- Willingness and ability to learn new production technologies.
- Preferred experience in live production environments.
- Knowledge of computer server installation and maintenance.
