Base pay range $160,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr The Director of Marketing at the Petersen Automotive Museum is a dynamic, strategic leader responsible for elevating the museum’s brand through innovative marketing programs and robust partnerships. Working under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, you will spearhead creative initiatives that drive attendance, enhance revenue streams, and strengthen relationships with auto manufacturers, brands, and supporters. This role demands an expert in automotive marketing, a visionary project manager, and an exceptional communicator who can think several moves ahead while executing complex, detail-oriented campaigns. Key Responsibilities Oversee and mentor the Marketing Department, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment Guide team members in developing and executing creative marketing strategies Program Development & Optimization Conceptualize, produce, and refine museum marketing programs across Development, Retail, Education, Curatorial, and Admissions to drive patron engagement and brand awareness Develop and maintain a programmatic calendar that aligns with the museum’s content roadmap and monthly offerings Partnership Management Manage Corporate Partnerships with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring ongoing collaboration and partner satisfaction Collaborate with the Digital Content Manager to integrate digital components into traditional marketing initiatives, reinforcing the museum’s platform growth Optimize the museum’s website, email campaigns, and social media channels to reflect the unique Petersen brand and engage diverse audiences Stage, review, and coordinate marketing content with the COO, museum partners, and legal teams to ensure all materials meet established requirements Strategically work with the Director of Events to plan, promote, and execute internal museum events, ensuring each event meets high standards of communication and production Define, track, and analyze key marketing metrics using appropriate analytics tools to measure progress and inform future initiatives Monitor and update content across all digital platforms, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with brand identity Required Qualifications Experience & Expertise:
Minimum of 5 years in marketing and partnerships, with demonstrated success in traditional and partnership marketing. Proven experience within the automotive sector, with a deep understanding of both collectible and new automotive markets. Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications (or a related field), or relevant work experience. Technical & Communication Skills:
Proficiency with digital marketing tools, website production, and social analytics. Exceptional written, oral, and visual communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling marketing decks, presentations, and pitches. Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite. Project Management & Strategic Thinking:
A track record of managing complex projects with a high degree of detail. Ability to think strategically and anticipate future challenges while executing current projects. Resourcefulness in delivering impactful marketing initiatives without relying on large corporate budgets. Personal Attributes:
