Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

The Associate Animator brings simple and complex concepts to life in a visually compelling way across a range of CNBC topics including retail, tech, finance and current events. The candidate is both comfortable illustrating original concepts as well as utilizing stock vectors and images. Concepts include everything from animated maps and charts to more abstract concepts such as electric vehicles and space. For social video, the animator will work with reporters to animate stories in multiple formats as well as redesigning animations to fit social guidelines. It’s an opportunity to educate the CNBC audience and push the limits visually each day.

What you'll do:

Work creatively to produce original and aesthetically pleasing designs and animations

Collaborate with producers to create animations for original videos

Support the lead animators on projects

Create social media assets including thumbnails, vertical videos and reels

Design and animate charts, maps and documents

Bring titles and text to life in a highly visual and impactful way

Meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment

At least 1 year of experience in digital media

Knowledgeable in the latest Adobe Creative Suite specifically Adobe After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop)

Must have a portfolio that showcases an expertise in animation, graphic design, motion design, typography, illustration and storytelling across a variety of platforms

Social media savvy and experience creating content for platforms

Creates 2D/3D animations and motion graphics from a script

Ability to illustrate original concepts when vectors and footage are not available

Ability to decipher and express data in meaningful and visually engaging ways for a mass audience

Familiar with spreadsheets

Detail-oriented with ability to work efficiently in fast paced environment, while meeting tight news deadlines

Proven news judgement and high ethical standards

General knowledge of current events and business news

General knowledge or interest in financial markets and terminology

Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours and weekends

Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience

Strong teamwork and work ethic
