Associate/ Assistant Packaging Designer

Overview

The Associate Package Designer will support the daily activities of the packaging department to ensure accurate and timely production of packaging materials.

Key Accountabilities

1. Conduct market research to support trend finds and new concepts and create a recap of findings.
2. Understand and support the print production process from start to finish and partner to suggest improvements for better efficiencies.
3. Assist in the design and development of cost effective, innovative, and consumer friendly hang tags and structural designs.
4. Update artwork, copy, and corresponding files according to both written and verbal feedback from stakeholders.
5. Troubleshoot and communicate issues pertaining to vendor approvals and/or production changes.
6. Update art and production files.
7. Work directly with vendors to execute new developments and pricing.
8. Partner to approve digital and physical submits from vendors inclusive of color, substrate quality, and finishes.
9. Review and communicate any issues with the packaging sample schedule to ensure deadlines are being met and elevate concerns in order to brainstorm possible solutions.
10. Partner in creating on-brand solutions for each project to help maintain brand integrity while supporting execution efficiencies where applicable across the total category.
11. Create, update, and maintain development tracking charts, packaging brief submits and quality standards library.
12. Communicate submit (sample & production) comments between the Packaging team and appropriate cross-functional teams.
13. Meet all deadlines in adherence to the seasonal design calendar.
14. Special projects as assigned.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Arts or related field.
2. 2+ years of experience in the fashion industry (children’s wear knowledge a plus).
3. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially in Adobe Illustrator.
4. Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills with attention to detail.
5. Work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
6. Illustration skills a plus.

Salary Description

$55,000 - $65,000 yearly
