Position Overview: We are looking for a passionate and experienced Architect to join our dynamic Georgia Tech Design Team. Our team leads design and adaptation of our existing facilities to meet GT’s academic and research mission. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare architectural designs for construction projects.
- Lead project design teams, providing programming, architectural designs, construction drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, design construction administration, and project reports.
- Develop technical specifications for construction projects.
- Maintain current knowledge of developments in the architectural profession.
- Ensure compliance with state building codes for assigned projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Design Consultant Contracting and Contract Management.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Manage design teams of GT and external design professionals, including coordination of all design for comprehensive design deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (5-year program) or Master of Architecture or Interior Design, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five years of job-related experience.
- Task and detail-oriented, flexible, and able to perform multiple tasks concurrently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot and solve varied problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five to seven years of job-related experience.
- Excellent time management, communication, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple projects and outside consultants.
- Ability to work independently.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Working knowledge of architectural principles and practices and related project management, including project programming, project budget formulation, design, and related construction.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, MS Office, and MS Teams Collaboration.
- Preferred experience with Workday and Project Management Information Systems.
