Under the direct supervision of the Administration Branch Supervisor (Staff Services Manager I), the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) serves as the Equal Employment Opportunity Program's (EEOP) Media Analyst and website administrator. The incumbent will create, research, organize, and coordinate communication material and outreach media that supports the EEOP. The incumbent must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and related graphic software. The incumbent will perform technical writing on policies, procedures, directives, manuals, reports, web content, and for various communications methods. Travel may be required.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Staff Services Analyst Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Working Conditions
Position located at 1820 Alhambra Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95816. This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
The work environment is fast-paced, busy, and requires considerable flexibility in managing time, priorities, and assignments. You will be required to work hours necessary to interact with others in order to complete your tasks. At times it can be demanding and/or stressful and may require travel to district offices or other meeting facilities.
