Technical Writer
Our client is seeking a skilled Technical Writer with experience in engineering and manufacturing to support the development, organization, and management of technical documentation related to products, processes, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structuring documentation to enhance accessibility and usability while ensuring seamless integration with user experience and fostering collaboration across multiple teams. While candidates from the software industry will still be considered, they must possess advanced skills in the current version of SharePoint Online along with the other listed qualifications.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Technical Writer Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and organize technical documentation for engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Work closely with subject-matter experts to ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and useful for its intended audience.
- Build and manage a centralized document library in SharePoint Online, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval.
- Assess and improve existing technical documentation, identifying gaps and areas for enhancement.
- Develop templates and standards to improve document usability and structure.
- Collaborate with global teams to transition, update, and standardize documentation across the organization.
- Contribute to the development and execution of governance processes for document and knowledge management.
Technical Writer Qualifications
- 2-4 years of hands-on technical writing experience (priority given to candidates with closer to 4 years).
- Experience writing documentation for engineering or manufacturing environments (product, process, procedures).
- Strong understanding of document organization and library development within SharePoint Online.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Adobe tools and Microsoft SharePoint (Online, current version).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Preferred experience in establishing governance processes for knowledge management.
Compensation: Up to $42/hr. (DOE)
