We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect with a strong background in Retail Media Networks and deep expertise in digital advertising technologies to help us design and execute the future of our technology landscape. This role will be critical in shaping the architecture of our retail media ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration with our existing systems, and leading the way to innovative, scalable, and data-driven solutions. You will be a strategic leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a deep understanding of how technology can drive business success in the retail sector.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in enterprise architecture, retail media networks, and advertising technology platforms (including Criteo, The Trade Desk, Epsilon, Acxiom, LiveRamp, Google CAFI), with a strong understanding of clean rooms, measurement, and attribution methodologies. You will collaborate across business units and technical teams to build sustainable, high-performance systems that empower our customers and enhance the retail media experience. Additionally, experience with GraphQL, MongoDB (or similar NoSQL databases), AdaptMind, Amplience CMS, and Power BI for reporting will be highly beneficial.
YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY: Architect and Design: Define the technology architecture for Ulta Beauty's retail media network, ensuring that systems are scalable, secure, and integrate seamlessly with existing platforms, third-party partners, and key advertising technologies (Criteo, The Trade Desk, Epsilon, Acxiom, LiveRamp, etc.). Lead Technical Strategy: Partner with business and technology stakeholders to create and align the roadmap for our retail media network, identifying both immediate and long-term technical needs. Leverage advanced advertising technologies and data solutions to optimize our marketing and customer engagement strategies. Guide Development Teams: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure the architecture supports the growth of digital media initiatives, from advertising solutions to customer experience technologies, while maintaining performance and reliability. Foster Innovation: Research and stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the retail media network space, recommending strategic initiatives to drive competitive advantage. Ensure integration with key platforms such as Google CAFI and enable advanced targeting and measurement capabilities. Data Integration & Clean Rooms: Lead efforts to integrate data across platforms, including clean rooms, and work with third-party data providers (e.g., LiveRamp, Acxiom, Criteo) to ensure the secure and effective use of customer data for personalized advertising campaigns. Measurement & Attribution: Define and oversee the architecture of measurement and attribution solutions, ensuring accurate performance tracking of digital media campaigns across platforms and channels. Drive the implementation of scalable solutions for accurate ROI tracking, customer journey analysis, and cross-channel measurement. GraphQL & NoSQL Integration: Lead integration of GraphQL APIs for flexible data querying and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB (or similar) for efficient, scalable storage solutions that enable quick access to high volumes of data across systems. CMS Integration: Implement and integrate content management systems such as Amplience CMS for seamless content delivery and management within the retail media ecosystem, ensuring data flows smoothly between marketing, product, and content teams. Reporting & Insights: Leverage Power BI for robust reporting and data visualization to track and measure key metrics related to retail media performance, campaign attribution, and other business insights. Ensure business stakeholders have access to accurate, actionable reports to make informed decisions. Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance to technical teams, including mentoring and conducting architecture reviews to ensure solutions align with best practices, business objectives, and security standards. Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work hand-in-hand with product owners, UX/UI teams, and other stakeholders to balance business needs with technical capabilities, communicating trade-offs and priorities clearly and effectively. Documentation and Communication: Produce clear documentation of architectural decisions, processes, and guidelines, ensuring transparency across the organization. Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts in continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and test-driven development, ensuring teams follow these practices to maintain high-quality standards and reduce time-to-market. Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to expand Ulta Beauty's retail media network and optimize data-driven advertising and consumer engagement strategies across platforms such as Criteo, The Trade Desk, Epsilon, Acxiom, and LiveRamp. Act as a key advisor to senior management, product teams, and external partners regarding complex system architecture, data management, and integration with advertising platforms. Help foster a culture of high-performance, customer-centric development, and technical excellence across the organization. ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant work experience may substitute for a degree.
Experience:
8-12 years of enterprise architecture experience with a focus on digital transformation and retail media networks. Proven experience leading complex architecture initiatives in high-tech or retail settings.
Technical Expertise : Deep knowledge of retail media networks, digital advertising platforms (Criteo, The Trade Desk, Epsilon, Acxiom, LiveRamp, etc.), data integration, and clean room solutions. Expertise in measurement and attribution methodologies, with experience in building solutions for campaign performance tracking, cross-channel measurement, and ROI analysis Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), APIs, microservices, and modern tech stacks. Familiarity with platforms and tools like Google Marketing Platform, Salesforce, AdaptMind, and Amplience CMS to enable retail media networks and personalized customer journeys. Solid experience with GraphQL APIs and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB or similar) to enable flexible, scalable data access across systems. Experience with Power BI for business intelligence and reporting, creating interactive dashboards and data visualizations that drive business decisions. Leadership:
Experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams and working with senior leadership to align technical and business strategies.
Agile & DevOps Practices:
Strong experience in Agile development methodologies, DevOps, and cloud-native architectures.
Communication Skills:

The pay range for this position is $117,000.00 - $165,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
