PRIMARY PURPOSE: Play a pivotal role in enhancing the Cleveland Guardians' brand through dynamic motion graphics and animations. This position focuses on supporting the Live Experience team by handling quick-turn requests, updating recurring graphics, and contributing to innovative gameday and marketing projects. This role ensures the delivery of cohesive and engaging visual content that elevates the fan experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Motion Design:

  • Support the conceptualization and animation of motion graphics to enhance the gameday experience and GTV productions.
  • Translate static design templates into dynamic motion elements.
  • Contribute fresh, innovative ideas during brainstorming sessions.
  • Assist with the development of additional theme night packages, full-board overlays, crowd prompts, and other original fan engagement elements.
  • Collaborate to explore new animation styles and visual storytelling techniques.


Content Updates & Quick-Turn Tasks:

  • Update and render matchup videos, fireworks graphics, and series-specific assets.
  • Create and update player-animated headshots and graphics package for the current roster.
  • Create end tags for in-game footage and social highlight reels.
  • Adapt marketing and social media graphics for scoreboard use.


Content Management:

  • Assist in organizing the asset library and maintaining animation and design element files.
  • Distribute animations and ensure efficient file management.


Workflow & Collaboration:

  • Support the Senior Designer/Animator with routine tasks to free up time for larger projects.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on additional design and animation needs.
  • Provide support for the production team with animations and graphics as required


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Animation, Motion Design, or a related field-or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Proficiency with the concept and application of the Principles of Animation
  • Experience with Cinema 4D or other 3D design software preferred.
  • Familiarity with video editing, animations for social media, and in-game sports entertainment.
  • Basic understanding of scoreboard control systems, such as Ross XPression, is a plus.
  • Robust knowledge of baseball and awareness of popular culture and trending topics.

  • Understanding of game scripting and rundown development processes.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during the season, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 55 pounds.
