About the Role

WeTheHobby is seeking a Senior Manager, On-Air Sales and Entertainment to lead, strategize, and optimize our live sales operations across digital platforms. This role will oversee a team of on-air salespeople, ensuring they drive revenue by engaging, entertaining, and selling sports cards effectively. The Senior Manager will analyze data to make informed decisions about show programming, product releases, high-traffic sales windows, and merchandising strategies to maximize revenue.

This individual must be a people-first leader, able to develop talent into top-tier sales entertainers while maintaining a keen eye for data and performance metrics. If you can blend the art of live entertainment with the science of sales optimization, we want you on our team.

Core Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Performance Optimization

  • Develop and execute data-driven sales strategies that maximize revenue through live-selling platforms.
  • Analyze product releases, high-volume traffic times, and revenue trends to build optimal show/break schedules.
  • Ensure a balanced product mix across shows, maximizing margin while maintaining an engaging and entertaining customer experience.
  • Identify trends in the market and competitor strategies to keep WeTheHobby at the forefront of live eCommerce.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of on-air salespeople, optimizing their ability to sell through entertainment.
  • Oversee scheduling, performance evaluations, and overall team development with regard to sales performance.
  • Implement sales training programs focusing on engagement, upselling techniques, and audience interaction.
  • Foster a high-energy, positive culture that keeps talent motivated and focused on revenue goals.

Execution & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and procurement teams to align product availability with sales opportunities.
  • Partner with platform representatives to drive unique activations, influencer collaborations, and promotional events.
  • Own key performance metrics, tracking individual and team performance to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Advocate for the on-air team, ensuring they have the tools, insights, and resources necessary to excel.

Innovation & Growth

  • Continuously explore new ways to improve engagement and drive revenue through entertainment-based selling.
  • Test and iterate on show formats, pricing strategies, and audience engagement techniques.
  • Build a deep understanding of our customer base and their buying behaviors to optimize sales tactics.

Requirements

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate about sports, entertainment, and live-selling.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales merchandizing leadership, eCommerce, live entertainment, or a related field.
  • A natural leader who thrives in a high-energy, sales-driven environment.
  • Data-savvy, with experience analyzing performance metrics to optimize sales strategies.
  • Hands-on experience managing and coaching a sales team to exceed revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, consumer psychology, and eCommerce trends.
  • Experience in sports collectibles or a similar high-engagement sales environment is a plus.
