Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Georgia Paraprofessional or Aide License.
  • Proficient in business English, spelling, mathematics, and office practices.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, and office machines.
  • Ability to work professionally with the public and others, both in person and over the phone.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provide supervision of students in the media center, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
  2. Assist the Media Specialist in all operations of the Media Center.
  3. Facilitate the use of computer software, record-keeping systems, and technical assistance as needed.
  4. Maintain and inventory media/CTAE equipment, supplies, and library books.
  5. Perform general clerical duties such as data entry, composing routine correspondence, and creating reports.
  6. Answer the telephone and greet visitors professionally, handling inquiries and directing requests appropriately.
  7. Manage and maintain department files with accuracy and confidentiality.
  8. Ensure a neat, organized, and orderly media center, including routine housekeeping tasks as necessary.
  9. Maintain bookkeeping records, budget items, and purchase orders, ensuring financial compliance.
  10. Exhibit professionalism, including punctuality, professional appearance, and respectful interactions with students, staff, parents, and the public.
  11. Comply with school, system, state, and federal regulations, including adherence to the PSC Code of Ethics.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to the proper chain of command.
  13. Participate in training sessions, workshops, and professional development activities, applying learned skills to job responsibilities.
  14. Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude while performing duties with minimal supervision.
  15. Take direction readily from supervisors and fulfill additional assigned supervisory or clerical duties as needed.
  16. Contribute to a positive and efficient work environment, promoting harmony and goodwill within the workplace.
  17. Assist with the organization and planning of CTAE activities and events.
Other Duties:
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Media Specialist or school administration.
