Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Georgia Paraprofessional or Aide License.
- Proficient in business English, spelling, mathematics, and office practices.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, and office machines.
- Ability to work professionally with the public and others, both in person and over the phone.
- Provide supervision of students in the media center, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Assist the Media Specialist in all operations of the Media Center.
- Facilitate the use of computer software, record-keeping systems, and technical assistance as needed.
- Maintain and inventory media/CTAE equipment, supplies, and library books.
- Perform general clerical duties such as data entry, composing routine correspondence, and creating reports.
- Answer the telephone and greet visitors professionally, handling inquiries and directing requests appropriately.
- Manage and maintain department files with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ensure a neat, organized, and orderly media center, including routine housekeeping tasks as necessary.
- Maintain bookkeeping records, budget items, and purchase orders, ensuring financial compliance.
- Exhibit professionalism, including punctuality, professional appearance, and respectful interactions with students, staff, parents, and the public.
- Comply with school, system, state, and federal regulations, including adherence to the PSC Code of Ethics.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to the proper chain of command.
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and professional development activities, applying learned skills to job responsibilities.
- Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude while performing duties with minimal supervision.
- Take direction readily from supervisors and fulfill additional assigned supervisory or clerical duties as needed.
- Contribute to a positive and efficient work environment, promoting harmony and goodwill within the workplace.
- Assist with the organization and planning of CTAE activities and events.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Media Specialist or school administration.
