Job Summary:
The District Communications & Public Relations Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing, and executing communication strategies that promote the district's mission, programs, and achievements. This role involves creating and distributing content across various platforms, ensuring consistent branding and messaging, fostering community engagement, and serving as the primary point of contact for public and media inquiries.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, manage, and distribute district communications and promotional materials, ensuring alignment with branding and messaging standards. Oversee and manage the district's communications and public relations budget in alignment with organizational goals. Expand outreach efforts to increase stakeholder engagement and strengthen partnerships with community organizations. Monitor and analyze industry trends and best practices to enhance district communication strategies. Create compelling reports, presentations, and multimedia content to support district initiatives and performance analysis. Highlight student and staff achievements through various media channels. Assist principals and district staff in achieving their communication goals. Identify and develop media advertising opportunities. Collaborate with district staff, guest speakers, and external partners to design, record, and publish engaging content. Support crisis and weather-related communications. Plan and assist with public events hosted by the district and schools. Serve as the primary liaison between the district and nonprofit organizations. Act as the main point of contact for community and public inquiries regarding district events. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field. Minimum of three years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations preferred. Strong verbal, written, and video communication skills with a keen eye for detail and creativity. Proficiency in social media platforms, trends, and digital marketing strategies. Experience with multimedia and web development tools such as HTML, JavaScript, XML, and photo/audio/video editing software. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new digital tools and technologies. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations and apply conflict resolution techniques. Highly organized self-starter with excellent time management skills. Ability to build positive relationships with teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community stakeholders. Must possess a valid driver's license.
