Learning Opportunity:
The Strategic Communications Intern will learn from and partner with the Director of Corporate Communications for David C Cook and Integrity Music and will interact with team members ministry wide, gaining exposure to multiple departments and roles. The Intern will get to experience, firsthand, the important part communication plays in informing, inspiring and connecting internal audiences. The Intern should have a passion for producing clear, concise, creative and accurate messages that are as helpful as they are engaging. The Intern will participate in strategic planning and implementation of content related to Global Employee Meetings and the company's brand-new intranet.
Internship Description:
Collaborate with corp comms director and cross-departmental team members to plan and create content for company intranet (gather information and fact check for accuracy, interview sources, write engaging but succinct stories that inform, connect and inspire team members).
Help plan and execute Global Employee Meetings by brainstorming agenda topics, coordinating with presenters, preparing slides, drafting summaries and follow-up messages to all staff.
Review and summarize engagement reports and make recommendations for improvements.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Internship Requirements:
Formal Education : Enrolled in a degree program related to communications, journalism, HR, or marketing, or a desire to learn about internal/employee communications.
Experience:
None required, but experience writing on behalf of a group, team, church, company, etc., is helpful (more than just personal social media posts, if possible).
Specialized Knowledge/Certification : Strong writing and editing skills are a must. Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) Associated Press style guide is a plus. Ability to adjust to changing plans is ideal.
Equipment Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
Internship Working Conditions: Working environment - cubicle office and co-working spaces with some noise Detail-oriented work requiring mental acuity and accuracy Business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.), with some later hours on occasion Opportunity to attend live worship sessions (during work hours) led by Integrity Music artists and songwriters
