We are seeking an experienced and passionate Designer to join our collaborative team and contribute to projects that shape and improve communities.

POSITION SUMMARY: As an Architect at Zoetrope, you will play a pivotal role in our design process, solving challenges while collaborating with clients and consultants, and guiding project execution from concept to completion. The ideal candidate brings creativity, technical expertise, and a commitment to sustainability and design excellence. You will be an integral team member, contributing to a culture that values curiosity, bold thinking, and integrity.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop design concepts and ideas in all phases of a project, including concept, schematic, design development, and construction document phases for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and relevant laws.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure alignment with project vision and objectives.
  • Ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate with contractors and consultants.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Software: Proficiency in Rhino or Revit, and the Adobe Creative Suite; experience with computational and visualization tools such as Grasshopper, Lumion, or Enscape is a plus but not required.
  • Technical Detailing: Ability to create detailed construction drawings and understand complex building systems.
  • Code and Standards Proficiency: Up-to-date knowledge of current and relevant building codes and standards.
  • Material Knowledge: Understanding the properties and applications of various building materials to inform sustainable and aesthetic choices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in an architectural role.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing projects from concept through construction.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and visual.
  • A portfolio that showcases a range of project types and innovative thinking.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to conduct remote and in-person meetings, and be onsite at client locations. May occasionally include travel to worksites and/or client engagements.
