The Dallas Mavericks are hiring a creative and diligent Off-Court video editor to support all Off-Court projects. Video content is a core part of the Dallas Mavericks Off-Court content strategy. Our videos both entertain fans and inform them of our impact on the community. All of this is possible thanks to our behind-the-scenes video staff. We’re looking for a skilled video editor to work in both short and long formats, taking footage shot by our Off-Court production team and editing it based on project specs. After showing a rough draft to stakeholders, they’ll be responsible for implementing project notes. The finished product will represent the best of the company and the video editor’s skill.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with producers, directors, and other production team members to plan and execute shoots.
  • Contribute creative ideas for content development and visual storytelling.
  • Operate ENG cameras and related equipment to shoot live games, practices, studio shows, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage.
  • Ensure high-quality video capture under various lighting and environmental conditions.
  • Set up and manage all necessary production equipment on location.
  • Edit raw footage into segments for exclusive content on the MavsTV digital platform.
  • Create highlight reels, feature stories, and promotional videos using editing software (Adobe Creative Suite applications).
  • Add graphics, sound, and visual effects to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot video and editing equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new video production and editing technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with video editing software like Premiere Pro.
  • Capacity to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to pick out attention-grabbing shots.
  • Knowledge of basic editing principles.
  • Ability to work with multi-track split audio.
  • Knowledge of aspect ratios.
  • Experience with high-resolution file transfer applications.
  • Understanding of video encoding formats.
  • Talent for sound design.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, Broadcasting, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in videography and editing, with a focus on sports.
