Responsibilities:
- Lead coverage of breaking/developing news stories both editorially and logistically for both the newsroom and field crews
- Research, coordinate & implement coverage of news stories
- Ability to quickly assess what is needed on coverage of breaking stories
- Ability to find & book experts and community members to appear on-air
- Collaborate with the website, social media, and streaming team
- Initiate & maintain communication with affiliates & NBC Network counterparts
- Consistently monitor and break news through social media platforms and tools
- This shift will start as an overnight weekend position, along with several weekday shifts.
- This is not a staff position. However, 40 hours per week through 2025 is possible
PLEASE NOTE: This is a project position with an estimated duration of up to 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a broadcast news environment
- Able to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas and status updates to both editorial and technical teams
- Working Knowledge of Police Scanners
- Previous coordinating assignments and generating story ideas a plus

- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
