Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Social Media Representative will possess strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok). This position will work on Goodwill's social media channels, assisting, implementing, and improving an established social media strategy. Responsible for posting about Goodwill's events and initiatives in different social media outlets and creating stories to engage and increase audience. Creates visual assets, including photos, videos, and graphics to accompany posts in Adobe Creative Suite. Monitors social media performance and suggests changes to posts' format and content.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions Statement(s):
- Proofreads copies daily to prevent grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors.
- Runs general errands including picking up and dropping off materials with vendors.
- Pulls outfits and merchandise from Goodwill retail stores to photograph and post on social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
- Sorts and collates materials that will be sent to other internal departments.
- Laminates, binds, mounts and stuffs a variety of printed materials.
- Assists with the maintenance of project calendars and schedules.
- Tracks the supply of promotional items in storage and alerts supervisor when items are low.
- Researches potential new vendors online.
- Assists in conducting surveys.
- Provides support at community events when needed.
- Requests media kits for editorial calendars and print advertising.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education: Associate’s Degree (two year college or technical school preferred).
Experience: Six months to one year related experience.
Computer skills: Email, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, familiar with social media sites and Word Press Blog.
Certificates & Licenses: Valid CA Driver’s license with driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday.
