Our client, a Jewish organization in NYC, is looking for a Photo/Video Asset Manager with experience working within a newsroom or media outlet for an ongoing contract position. The ideal candidate will be a multi-media expert with a strong background in photo and video asset management. This role will be responsible for culling through extensive photo and video shoots, curating the best visuals, exporting and labeling the content appropriately, and ensuring all assets are uploaded to the company's digital asset management systems. This position requires someone who is both creative and highly organized, capable of handling a high volume of content while maintaining quality and consistency.
This is a fully onsite role and requires 5-days/week in office in Downtown Manhattan.
Responsibilities:
- Review and organize raw photo and video assets from various shoots.
- Curate and select the best images and clips based on quality, relevance, and storytelling potential.
- Export, label, and categorize photo and video content for easy accessibility.
- Upload and manage assets in the company's digital asset management system.
- Maintain consistency in metadata tagging and file naming conventions.
- Manage archival processes and ensure proper storage of historical assets.
- Work under tight deadlines to prepare assets for publication and distribution.
- Ensure copyright compliance and proper usage rights for all media assets.
- Provide quality control checks to ensure assets meet technical and editorial standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Photo/Video Asset Manager or similar role in a newsroom or media outlet.
- Expertise in photo and video editing software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of digital asset management systems and best practices.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage large volumes of media content efficiently.
- Experience in metadata tagging and file organization strategies.
- Familiarity with copyright laws and media licensing standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Prior experience with Jewish culture and traditions a huge plus.
