Responsibilities:MV Transportation is seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist to provide support to internal stakeholders through content creation, review and distribution of communications to MV Transportation employees. This person should have a passion for writing and developing high-quality communications, designed to engage employees, and drive company initiatives, culture and key messages. This includes providing creative direction by determining appropriate communication strategy and platform, while writing thoughtful content. This role also owns corporate social media sites, including creating/scheduling posts that are on-brand and building social media calendars, targeting follower growth and increased engagement.
The Marketing & Communications Specialist role has one of the broadest reaches of any corporate function and has the ability to make a direct and lasting impact on employee engagement and company culture.
Responsibilities:
- Produce clear, engaging and strategic communications that align with company objectives
- Write/edit and distribute communications in collaboration with the requestor and other subject matter experts
- Ability to map clear (often creative) marketing and communication strategies for company initiatives
- Ghost write for the executive team (communications, town hall talking points, speeches and other content)
- Owns corporate social media sites, including LinkedIn and Facebook
- Identify newsworthy company stories to share across the organization that help drive company culture
- Manages multiple communication platforms
- Acts as a brand ambassador, reinforcing corporate brand guidelines and providing counsel to support a consistent external representation of the MV brand
- Manage content and design for the employee intranet
- Support marketing and communications projects and other related campaigns as requested
- Plays a supporting role in monitoring media inquiries and drafting statements
- Follow consistent style and branding guidelines
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
Talent Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years of communications experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, journalism or a related field
- Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Experience with SharePoint
- Knowledge of AP style
- Exceptional time management skills
- Ability to generate creative ideas, analyze information and make decisions
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in an exciting, fast-paced environment with multiple projects and competing timelines
