The range for this role is $57,000 to $77,000

Actual base pay will be determined based on a successful candidate's work location, skills/abilities, experience, and education. This role includes opportunity to receive an annual bonus target of 5% of annual eligible earnings. Actual bonus amounts are determined by length of time in role, individual performance, and organizational performance.

Interested candidates must be willing and able to work onsite minimum 4 times per week in either our Melbourne, FL or Orlando, FL office.

The Job

This role is focused on creating and maintaining comprehensive end-to-end documentation of organizational processes and authoring and editing work instruction materials for multiple departments in the company's knowledge base. The ideal candidate excels at learning new technologies and building inter-departmental relationships. The Technical Writer will produce accurate process documentation that shows organizational inter-dependencies and will write content that connects knowledge in logical, intuitive steps in a way that is easy for users to understand.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Document end-to-end processes within the organization following industry best practices
  • Author and revise up-to-date knowledge base instructions for a variety of audiences
  • Build relationships with SMEs in assigned departments to gain a thorough understanding of that department's processes and procedures and partner to document workflows
  • Analyze existing content for potential updates and opportunities for improvement in alignment with internal governance
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience by reviewing and editing prepared documents and manuscripts for clarity, grammatical accuracy, and proper formatting
  • Attend meetings of assigned departments to stay up-to-date with potential changes or projects that would require additional documentation, including new materials or updates to existing material
  • Collaborate with Training and Development team members to ensure all team efforts are supported with appropriate documentation and written to appropriate standards.
  • Contribute to the exercise and expression of Christian Care Ministry's Christian beliefs
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and process mapping software

Education and/or Experience
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communication, or similar field
    OR High School diploma with equivalent experience
  • Required: 3-5 years of experience as a technical or knowledge base writer, preferably in the healthcare payer, financial services, or healthcare operations industry
  • Required: Experience in Visio (process mapping) or equivalent system
  • Preferred: Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) or similar credential
  • Preferred: Livepro (knowledge base), SnagIt (screen capture) or equivalent systems
  • Preferred: Experience contributing to project management or instructional curriculum design teams
