As a Senior Interior Designer at KBID, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage projects and team members from design to construction. Our small firm setting will require you to work on a variety of projects, ranging from high-end single family homes to small commercial spaces as a project manager and collaborative design and technical lead to our younger team members. You will play a crucial role in creating exceptional interior environments that meet code requirements and reflect our clients’ needs and aspirations. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for design excellence, a strong understanding of industry standards, proficiency in technical knowledge and a dedication to delivering exceptional results for our clients.


Responsibilities:

·    Collaborate with all levels of designers at KBID with a “best design wins” mentality, no matter level of experience.

·    Think creatively and confidently, prepare strong design concepts that are unique to each project’s goals.

·    Is able to confidently lead project meetings (both client facing and internal team meetings) and communicate ideas, information, and goals clearly and effectively.

·    Listens to the client to provide thoughtful “client driven design” solutions to meet the functional and aesthetic goals of the project, even with not in line with ideal design concepts.

·    Successfully manage a project that is meeting the design needs and budget of the client, while maintaining the expectations of KBID design process, deliverables, and customer service, within project fee parameters.

·    Has a desire and strength at sourcing unique finishes and products that elevate KBID’s design knowledge and impact.

·    Have strong understanding of materiality and constructability when selecting and proposing products and finishes.

·    Complete detailed furniture specification packages and provide budgets & quotes for procurement.

·    Is as comfortable with preparing all necessary detailed design drawings in Revit, as they are teaching younger team members to prepare the same drawings.

·   Able to understand a fully coordinate a construction document set, including KBID’s responsible sheets as it relates to other consultants and external architectural partnerships.

·   Use multiple strategies to effectively communicate design ideas to other team members or industry partners, including but not limited to hand sketching, 3D modeling and renderings, computer drafting in Revit, etc.

·   Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects at a time in a fast paced environment.

·   Has a desire to train and lead younger teams members, giving them the opportunity to grow and excel in their own careers.

·   Is excited to work with leadership to offer solutions for design advancement, project profitability, and company growth within the industry, as well as, help to implement new ideas that leadership has identified as a critical path in the company.

Qualifications:

·    Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from and accredited school

·    8+ years of interior design experience in multiple project types (workplace, hospitality, retail, and residential preferred)

·   NCIDQ or ARE license required

·   Strong working knowledge in all design phases; SD, DD, CD, CA/CO, FFE Specification & Procurement

·   High proficiency in Revit, Enscape, InDesign, Bluebeam, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Word.

·   Ability to produce full set of code compliant construction documents for permit.

·   Uses strong graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas.

·   Must have excellent organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills

·   Must be detailed focused and driven to excel in their career

·   Must be self-starting, dedicated, and work efficiently with a passion to learn and grow
