Position Summary: As part of the project team, Designer 1 is responsible for assisting project team members in all phases of design including programming and planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. This position assists the project team in production of documents, development of presentations, and project coordination. Designer 1 must apply themselves to all types of work the firm requires to deliver projects and understand all the sub-disciplines and skills within the firm (workplace design, lab planning, etc.). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist document production with industry standard document delivery software, REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office. Work with project team members to produce design documents for client review. Participate in the development and implementation of architectural designs for multiple projects. Assist in creating design presentations and generating presentation drawings. Coordinate with vendors to learn about new product launches and to procure material samples. Assist in selection of FF&E, lighting, and other interior and exterior and architectural products. Take part in site and lab equipment survey and document survey findings in REVIT. Assist in production of programming, planning documentation such as: room cards, adjacency diagrams, etc. and lab design. Produce construction drawings in Revit under the direction of Project Designer/ Architect. Incorporate Senior team member redlines accurately in a timely manner. Adhere to project schedule and deadlines. Attend internal and external project/ consultant meetings and take detailed notes. Research and keep up to date on the trends and innovative interior and architectural products. Assist in creating and maintaining project library. Help to create 3D renderings for the project.
