Description:

Our Advertising Sales Research team is seeking talented people to help create the future of Television and lead the advertising industry into the future. The Ad Sales Research team delivers actionable insights to drive ad sales revenue. This department supports the entire media portfolio, as well as the entire ad sales organization.

Our goal is to remain on the cutting edge of cross-platform research by turning data into insights and managing research ranging from audience insights and positioning to planning and measuring against brand KPIs. We leverage expertise in media, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, and data analysis to help shape research design and share actionable findings.

The Manager of Advertising Sales Audience Advancement will lead and support the team in reach & frequency planning and measurement solutions. This person will help manage a team leading in-market solutions and pioneer future partnerships in this area of expertise. The Manager will also focus on supporting strategies and industry initiatives to inform potential currency solutions.

Successful candidates will work directly with the sales team, internal teams, and our research vendors to find and build solutions to measure consumption of brands across the linear and digital landscape. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will develop, drive, and oversee new strategies to ensure the growth of the research ad measurement strategy and the overall bottom line.

Internal Advancement & Testing Work:

  1. Serve as an expert for the Ad Sales team in audience measurement, emerging methodologies, data flows (pixel, ad log, clean room), currency solutions across media types and platforms.
  2. Build, grow and manage new and existing partnerships with 3rd party measurement vendors.
  3. Develop testing opportunities and strategic framework for emerging solutions in partnership with Director and cross-functional support teams inclusive of Data Science, Advanced Ops, Ad Platform, Sales Enablement, and Legal.

Client Facing Strategic Consulting & Presenting Measurement work:

  1. Provide guidance for ad sales on reach and frequency measurement solutions.
  2. Develop a comprehensive understanding of current and potential clients’ research and measurement goals, navigating the process from consultation to feasibility, to the development and presentation of the analysis.
  3. Create, ideate, develop the workflow, process, and go-to-market materials showcasing the power of Disney’s measurement capabilities.

Improve Workflow, Enable Solutions and Scalability:

  1. Work cross-functionally to improve operations and scalability of measurement and planning solutions. Includes improving data flows, enabling new dashboard solutions, understanding methodology enhancements, and managing & communicating internally.
  2. Execute internal tests on alternative measurement and planning tools to understand marketplace offerings, build internal POV, and inform strategic roadmap. Use understanding of gaps in measurement to work cross-functionally to solve for these challenges.
  3. Work with internal stakeholders to assess future opportunities and areas of collaboration.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years media and advertising research experience, including television and online, media, marketing, and strategy.
  2. 3+ years in research measurement solutions and managing vendor relationships.
  3. Experience managing people.
  4. Experience with Nielsen, Samba, and VideoAmp cross-platform reach and frequency solutions.
  5. Experience with, and a strong understanding of methodology, ad campaign data flows (pixel, ad log, clean room), and 3rd party reach measurement solutions.
  6. Experience with ad technologies and how they are evolving in an increasingly privacy-centric media ecosystem.
  7. Experience with independently managing and implementing research and measurement solutions.
  8. Comprehensive understanding of the media business, with an emphasis on the streaming TV landscape.
  9. Experience working with multiple stakeholders and across multiple teams.
  10. Innovative thinker capable of operating in both a strategic capacity and a hands-on/execution capacity.
  11. Proven ability to collaborate, build consensus, and navigate complex environments.
  12. Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate future possibilities into tangible opportunities.
  13. Evaluate external vendor, data, and technology solutions, and provide perspective on build vs buy options for the business.
  14. Provide leadership and consulting to colleagues across internal functions.
  15. Must have excellent presentation building and writing skills.
  16. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university in Advertising, Media, Marketing, Market Research, Data Analytics, Statistics or Social Science.

Preferred Qualifications:

Someone who has worked at an agency or in an advertising firm in a media capacity and understands ratings.
