Job Description:

The Department of Communication is seeking to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a research and teaching emphasis in Media Advertising, effective September 1st, 2025. Applicants should be able to teach undergraduate & graduate courses in one or more of the following areas: international/intercultural advertising, Latina/o or minority markets and stakeholders, consumer insights, data analytics, advertising design, media buying and planning, advertising campaigns, social media advertising, visual storytelling, campaign strategy, advertising theory, or other courses in the candidate's area of specialization.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Communication or a closely related field (with a research concentration in Media Advertising) from an accredited university. ABD applicants will be considered if a doctorate will be in hand by fall 2025. An active research agenda and published scholarly journal articles are required. The potential to secure external funding is highly valued.

Preferred Areas:

Preference will be given to candidates who have research and teaching expertise in one or more areas listed in the job description.
