Description of College/Department/Program/Division/Unit:

The College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CASSH) includes departments and programs in the humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary studies, as well as departments in the School of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA). CASSH/VPA continues the established liberal studies tradition of providing curricula leading to the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science degree.

CASSH/VPA is dedicated to providing quality innovative instruction and creative learning experiences which prepare students for future careers and education. Graduates of the college will have developed the ability to communicate effectively, think critically, conduct sound research, understand complex issues, and participate meaningfully as global citizens.

Position Summary:

Under general supervision of the department chair, a person in this position is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, evaluating students’ work, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. The workload may also involve advising students and/or providing other service to the department.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s Degree (in rare circumstances, post-baccalaureate certification or licensure or a baccalaureate plus experience may be considered appropriate qualifications for the teaching position).

Preferred Qualifications:

Music teaching experience at the college level.
