Director of Music & Worship (Part-time—25 hours)

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Supervises: Pianist, Organist, Media Ministry Assistant

Position Summary: The Director of Music & Worship assists in planning, coordinating and implementing Harrisonburg Baptist Church’s mission and vision as it relates to blended worship.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide music leadership for worship services
2. Collaborate with the ministry team to plan worship services
3. Direct the Adult Choir in rehearsals and worship
4. Direct Praise Team in rehearsals and worship
5. Coordinate and/or direct rehearsals of children’s music
6. Coordinate and/or direct the hand bell ensemble
7. Enlist and train participants for worship related music programs
8. Identify and develop new leaders within the music program
9. Work with the organist, pianist and praise team to plan and provide the appropriate music needed for the worship services
10. Develop and submit the annual budget for the total music budget and provide oversight in the disbursement of funds.
11. Coordinate with the media team for worship related needs
12. Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Pastor

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area, such as: Conducting, Music Education, Music Performance, or Church Music
• Instrumental or keyboard experience preferred, but not required
• A strong understanding of choral conducting and rehearsal planning
• Experience in blended worship leadership and planning preferred
