The Enterprise Design and Research (EDR) team is responsible for deepening customer engagement through our digital experiences on mobile and web. The team’s mission is to increase digital engagement, customer satisfaction and revenue through a combination of compelling features and a superior user experience. We have an enterprise commitment to deploy personalized experiences that meet the growing needs of our customers globally and across all lines of business. Within EDR, the UX Design & Research team is a group of talented, passionate, multi-disciplinary members based in New York, Phoenix, and London. How will you make an impact in this role?
Researchers at Amex help to elevate knowledge and understanding of our users across UX, product and engineering, and play a critical role in building the world's best user experience.
As a Senior Associate UX Researcher, you'll facilitate research efforts with our vendor partners, and lead research projects or specific research activities for the team at large, across product journeys and domains. You will have the opportunity to work hands-on with a variety of data collection and sense making methods, and to begin translating findings into inspired and actionable artifacts.
You will also support experimentation efforts and hypothesis validation to enhance customer experiences and optimize business outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Facilitates research activities, handling specific activities on larger projects, coordinating studies with our vendor partners, or handling a study from start to finish with guidance as needed from a more senior member of the team
Works with designers and product managers to establish research objectives and align on learning approaches
Executes primarily evaluative studies using a variety of methods and analyzes data from multiple sources to generate insights that inform specific product and design decisions
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align research objectives with broader business goals and to integrate research findings into product and design decisions
Contributes to the creation of research artifacts that bring user needs and insights to life
Initiates the creation of new templates and toolkits that aid researchers in their work
Builds expertise in the end-to-end research process and maintains compliance with data privacy and tooling standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Has at least 2 years of hands-on experience in research
Proficient in using UserZoom and User Testing for both moderated and unmoderated approaches
Demonstrates an understanding of fundamental UX research theories, principles and concepts gained through practical experience in industry or academia, on-the-job training, or formal education
Familiarity with experimentation methods, such as A/B testing or multivariate testing, and their role in customer experience optimization.
Is a proactive, energetic communicator, with an impressive attention to detail in written communications (e.g., slack messages, emails, and research documents), and a clear and engaging verbal presentation style
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects effectively.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually bonus benefits
