Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to join the Worldwide Marketing Finance team. We are responsible for managing a portfolio of marketing investments across a diverse set of off-Amazon channels which are used to drive new and existing customers to the Amazon store. We measure and track these investments with the aim of optimizing long term free cash flow.

The Finance Manager will directly support Creators Marketing, which manages investments with external partners, including Social Media Influencers and Publishers. They will provide strategic guidance and thought leadership for short and long-range investment decisions, build mechanisms and tools to surface key analytical insights, dive deep into large sets of data, prioritize and deliver projects that aim to continuously improve our scale and efficiency, and manage the overall controllership of the business. They are responsible for helping the Creators business drive growth for the Amazon store, engaging with the next generation of customers, defining business plans for new programs and products, navigating continuous learnings on investment measurement, and growing our Amazon presence worldwide.

This role requires a self-starter with business modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, a track record of earning trust and influencing business partners with data-driven decision making, and the ability to move fast. Communication and collaboration are key, as the individual must interact with members across product, marketing, tech, finance and various leadership teams.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Drive investment strategy discussions via insightful and relevant analysis on historical and projected performance
  2. Manage controllership with a high degree of accuracy across planning and reporting
  3. Lead Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews
  4. Partner with Senior leadership to evaluate the financial impact of decisions
  5. Be a steward for maximizing long term free cash flow of investments
  6. Partner with various business and tech teams to become a subject matter expert on systems and outcomes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
