Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University seeks a student-focused, high-energy, collaborative, organized, engaged, positive, innovative, strong written and verbal communicator, and self-starter, who adapts well to change and can manage multiple projects. The successful candidate will provide leadership, direct outreach, and support to the University Community on issues related to scholarly communications, copyright, open access, and open education.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the Libraries’ primary contact for scholarly communication questions and initiatives.
  • Lead development and implementation of policies relating to copyright, open licensing, and attribution of Creative Commons licensed materials.
  • Deliver timely presentations and educational and instructional programs.
  • Support and educate the campus community regarding scholarly communications and related topics.
  • Create workshops, subject guides, and social media content.
  • Promote and market open access and OER.
  • Support faculty in adopting and creating open educational resources (OER).
  • Investigate creating Textbook Reserve collections at various campus locations.
  • Create and/or maintain research guides and other documentation.
  • Stay current and track trends on developments in the field.
  • Participate in Libraries’ engagement events.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience emphasizing scholarly communication issues.
  • Knowledge of U.S. copyright law and policy.
  • Knowledge of Open Education Resources (OER).
  • Experience providing instruction sessions and presentations.
  • Strong organization skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00
