Job Title:Director of Marketing
Location:100% remote, United States Duration: Fulltime, direct-hire role Salary: $150-$160K, + bonus
Overview: The Director of Marketing will collaborate closely with the VP of Marketing and the broader team to introduce new products and define the brand's unique market positioning. This role is responsible for executing high-impact product launches that align with the brand's portfolio, leveraging consumer insights, data, and trends while supporting the founder's vision.
Additionally, the Director will be instrumental in shaping product strategy, positioning, and go-to-market execution, driving innovation and sustained growth in the global beauty industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Positioning:
• Collaborate with Product Development, Sales, and Creative to shape product launch strategies, messaging, and innovation. • Lead internal kickoffs, covering positioning, go-to-market tactics, launch sizing, and sampling. • Research consumer trends to refine product positioning in a competitive market. • Ensure marketing campaigns align with the brand's vision by working closely with Product and Creative teams. • Manage vendor briefings, bridging the founder's vision with market execution. • Oversee JBP, hallmarks, sampling, and promotional strategies for retail alignment.
Go-To-Market Strategy:
• Drive NPD presentations, optimizing product launches from concept to shelf. • Align Creative, Copy, and Sales on cohesive product storytelling and marketing assets. • Lead go-to-market and creative kickoffs, ensuring cross-functional alignment. • Gather consumer insights from Sales, Retail, and CX to enhance positioning and messaging. • Own quarterly product reports, analyzing sales and sentiment to refine strategy. • Oversee retail marketing efforts, from in-store activations to digital presence.
Product Marketing & Growth:
• Assess product performance, identifying growth opportunities across all channels. • Ensure compliance with global Legal and Regulatory standards for product marketing. • Audit PDP assets to optimize imagery and content for digital conversion. • Lead global promotions and kitting strategy, crafting on-brand sets, kits, and retail exclusives.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
• Develop product toolkits and education materials to support launches. • Create launch presentations, pitch decks, and sales materials for global retail placement. • Align influencer strategies with product positioning, working closely with Influencer Relations. • Partner with PR agencies to ensure cohesive product messaging and media strategy. • Collaborate with social teams to craft compelling product storytelling across platforms.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. • Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience, including at least 7 years of product marketing in the beauty or personal care space. • Proven experience developing product positioning strategies, ingredient storytelling, and managing product claims. • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to marketing. • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and other business tools.
