Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Interior Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for luxury aesthetics, a deep understanding of materials and furnishings, and the ability to manage projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the design team on efforts project development with input from senior designers.
  • Conceptualize and describe design ideas through 3D visualization, mood boards, and hand-sketching.
  • Develop space plans, project budgets, schedules, and programming documentation.
  • Select, specify and create schedules for finish materials, hard surfaces, plumbing, hardware, appliances, lighting, and FF&E.
  • Create and present mood boards, space plans, and design proposals.
  • Source luxury furnishings, materials, and finishes that align with the project’s design intent.
  • Produce detailed drawings, renderings, and specifications using design software.
  • Prepare diagrams and/or markups for vendors, providing clear item-specific details.
  • Help review project timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships.
  • Assist with installations and ensure quality control throughout the design process.
  • Stay current with design trends, materials, and industry innovations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members as needed to ensure seamless project execution.

Design Support & Administrative Tasks:

  • Source applicable items for client projects, including fabrics, furniture, and wallcoverings.
  • Create and update client proposal sets, and presentations.
  • Prepare agendas and materials for client meetings.
  • Manage design library/office organization including storage for accessories, client items, office supplies, etc.
  • Create and update custom furniture drawings as needed.
  • Document design processes and decisions for future reference.
  • Create client care and resource guidelines.
  • Create and compile client installation day reference binders.
  • Assist design team with sourcing materials for presentations and laying out presentations in Canva.
  • Create and update schedules for design projects.
  • Assist in maintaining files and data, including project and office files.

Logistics and Coordination:

  • Deliver, pick up, and quality check items at the receiver.
  • Coordinate site pick-ups, deliveries, and measures as needed.
  • Source, pick up, and return samples at showrooms as needed.
  • Complete other errands as required to assist with projects.

Communication and Documentation:

  • Communicate with vendors on pricing, lead times, and item specifications.
  • Enter client selections into Asana and finalize item selections into Studio Designer. Review with senior designer to check for accuracy before client presentation or order placement.
  • Document and process client time billing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Interior Design.
  • 3+ years of experience in high-end residential interior design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing luxury residential projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, PowerPoint & Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of furniture, materials, and finishes used in high-end residential projects.
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the design process, including specification of materials, FF&E, and color.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with senior and principal designers
  • Understanding of financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget.
  • Experience with vendor relations and procurement processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Established relationships with luxury vendors and artisans.
  • Experience with 3D rendering software (e.g, Sketchup Podium & Enscape).
  • Experience using Studio Designer software.
  • Understanding of building codes and building systems.
  • Resilient to coping with client demands & able to prioritize duties and work effectively.
