Role: Studio Manager

Location: Grand Rapids, MI – Hybrid/Onsite (2-3x/week)

About the role:

OLIVER is partnering with BISSELL to build a world-class in-house agency, redefining content creation and production workflows. We are seeking a Studio Manager to oversee the end-to-end operations of the in-house agency, ensuring efficient workflows, optimal resource allocation, and high-quality content production that aligns with the client's strategic objectives. This role requires a highly organized and strategic leader with expertise in video, photography, CGI, and creative asset management. You will collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Designers, Motion Artists, Producers, and Marketing teams to maintain studio efficiency, resource planning, and content execution. Additionally, you will explore GenAI tools to optimize content production, automate workflows, and drive operational improvements. What you will be doing:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the in-house agency, including video, photography, CGI, and motion content production.
  • Develop and implement studio workflows and best practices, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Manage scheduling, resource allocation, and project timelines, optimizing efficiency across creative teams.
  • Monitor and enforce brand guidelines and quality assurance standards for all creative output.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement new production technologies and tools.
  • Lead and mentor a team of creatives, producers, and editors, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Assign projects and balance workloads to ensure deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Provide strategic oversight for talent acquisition, training, and professional development of studio staff.
  • Develop and track KPIs to measure studio performance and efficiency.
  • Manage studio budgets, vendor contracts, and external partnerships to maximize cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product teams, and creative stakeholders to align studio production with business needs.
  • Oversee the procurement of equipment, software, and technology necessary for content production.
  • Maintain relationships with external agencies, freelancers, and production partners to expand creative capabilities.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, AI-powered content creation tools, and emerging technologies.
  • Utilize GenAI tools to automate repetitive production tasks and improve creative workflows.
  • Implement cloud-based asset management systems to ensure accessibility and version control.
  • Drive continuous learning and experimentation within the studio to enhance efficiency and creative output.
What you need to be great in this role:
  • 5+ years of experience in studio management, content production, or creative operations within an advertising, marketing, or in-house creative team.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex projects with precision, efficiency, and creativity.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple productions simultaneously.
  • Deep understanding of video production, photography, CGI, and motion graphics workflows.
  • Experience with creative asset management platforms, DAM systems, and production scheduling tools.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing creative teams and optimizing resources.
  • Excellent budget management and vendor negotiation experience.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven content automation tools, with a curiosity about their potential to enhance creative production.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with an ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, project management tools (e.g., Workfront, Monday), and cloud-based collaboration tools.
  • Experience working in consumer product marketing or eCommerce content production.
  • Knowledge of content development for Amazon storefronts, eCommerce banners, and digital advertising.
  • Familiarity with 3D rendering software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender) for CGI content integration.
  • Background in motion graphics, video editing, or post-production.
  • Understanding of creative process automation and AI-driven workflow enhancements.
  • Knowledge of social media engagement tactics for video content.
  • At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from $97,750.00 to $109,250.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER's total compensation package.
