We’re seeking a talented and detail-oriented Part-Time Content Writer and Editor to join our non-profit client's team and play a pivotal role in shaping brand voice and content strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled writer and editor with experience in nonprofit, association, or heavily regulated industries to contribute to impactful projects.

What You’ll Be Working On:

As a Content Writer and Editor, you’ll support a range of initiatives, including:

  • Long-Form Copy: Help develop and refine brand voice (a brand guide exists, but we need your expertise to elevate it).
  • Blog Writing: Create insightful and compelling blogs once a month.
  • Press Releases: Draft press releases for events and media advisories.
  • RFP Writing: Contribute to request for proposal (RFP) documents once per quarter.
  • Website Updates: Manage website content updates every other week (and input updates into WordPress templates if time allows).
  • Thought Leadership Support: Assist with thought leadership initiatives as needed.

This is 20 hours per week of work, but must be done during normal business hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm CST.

What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like:

  • Updating and refreshing website content.
  • Reviewing, editing, and polishing copy for accuracy, clarity, and brand alignment.
  • Creating original content, including monthly blogs and quarterly RFP responses.
  • Crafting compelling press releases and media advisories for key events.
  • Potentially working within our WordPress platform to upload and format content.

Technical Requirements:

  • Familiarity with WordPress is highly preferred.

Our ideal candidate possesses:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with experience in nonprofit, association, or heavily regulated spaces.
  • Ability to adapt tone and style to develop and evolve our brand’s voice.
  • Strong attention to detail and a firm grasp of grammar, syntax, and style guidelines.
  • A proactive approach to managing tasks and meeting deadlines.
