The Digital Engagement/Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing and developing content for the organization's social media platforms to engage audiences and support the command's mission. This role requires expertise in social media strategy, content creation, and analytics to deliver impactful campaigns and maintain an engaging online presence. The ideal candidate will stay current with industry trends and apply best practices to enhance the organization's social media footprint.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Strategy and Management
Manage and develop content for social media accounts for MCSC and PEO LS, serving as the subject matter expert on social media strategy, trends, and visuals. Maintain a social media content calendar, providing weekly updates for Government approval that reflect content for at least two weeks in advance. Ensure all content aligns with the OPAC Social Media Strategy, the command mission, and industry best practices. Campaign Development and Execution
Design and execute impactful social media campaigns as directed by the Government, creating compelling content that supports organizational initiatives. Update and maintain the command's presence across social media platforms with fresh, relevant, and strategic content. Develop graphics and short-form video products for social media, ensuring adherence to branding guidelines and industry standards. Content Creation and Engagement
Provide on-site social media support at command events, capturing in-the-moment content (e.g., Stories, Reels) and producing day-of posts within hours of the event. Monitor social media platforms daily to track audience engagement, including comments and direct messages, and propose responses to the Government lead for approval. Metrics and Analytics
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of social media efforts, contributing to quarterly and annual metrics reports. Prepare ad-hoc reports to evaluate the success of individual posts, events, or campaigns within a specified timeframe. Compliance and Professionalism
Ensure all content is consistent, professional, and aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals. Work closely with Government leads to secure approvals and ensure content reflects the command's priorities. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field. Proven experience managing social media accounts and executing successful campaigns. Expertise in social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and content creation tools. Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software, including tools in the Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to stay current with industry trends and apply best practices effectively.
