The Strategic Communications Specialist will lead and support strategic communication initiatives for public affairs, visual information, and multimedia projects. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to align projects with organizational goals, maintaining editorial calendars, analyzing metrics, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and executing communication strategies, project management, and metrics-driven analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Project Management

Coordinate and execute projects related to public affairs, visual information, and multimedia, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and adherence to industry standards. Ensure projects meet deadlines and budgetary requirements, while serving as a liaison between customers and staff. Oversee administrative, logistical, and financial aspects to ensure efficient contract performance Strategic Communication Planning

Develop and write an annual strategic communications plan, including research, data collection, and metrics to inform communication strategies and execution. Design and implement tailored communication strategies for public affairs efforts such as social media campaigns, community relations, podcasts, and videos. Leverage industry best practices and metrics reports to recommend strategic paths for up to two years. Content Development and Calendar Management

Maintain an editorial calendar for planning and scheduling the release of content, including articles, social media campaigns, podcasts, and videos. Manage the lifecycle of public affairs content from ideation to publication. Metrics and Analytics

Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of public affairs products and strategies. Prepare and deliver quarterly and annual metrics reports covering traditional/earned media, social media, podcasts, videos, and strategic events. Media and Job Tracking

Develop and maintain a job-tracking system for monitoring requests, outlining job details, and assigning delivery timelines. Ensure the job-tracking system is accessible to government stakeholders. Media Analysis

Plan, develop, and document the results of recurring and ad hoc media analysis activities to provide insights and recommendations. QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. Secret Clearance required. Proven experience in strategic communication planning and execution. Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage budgets. Proficiency with media aggregation tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision). Analytical skills to interpret metrics and deliver actionable insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
