Technical Services Specialist - Broadcast Technologies

Location: UK OR US (LA or Atlanta) - you will need to be eligible to work in the region which you are applying for

Reports to:Manager, Technical Services (based in LA)

ABOUT THE ROLE

This person will be a specialist for delivering Disguise projects across our Broadcast and XR customers. The Technical Services Specialist (Broadcast) will work on various platforms, mainly LED stages, and mixed reality technologies: helping us achieve our clients creative vision with our technical acumen.

This person will collaborate alongside Disguise’s solutions designers, creative services, project managers, engineers, third-party vendors, and most importantly, the customer - ensuring projects are implemented successfully; on time, to scope, within budget and exceeding their expectations. The Technical Services Specialist will be experienced at collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones.

The Technical Services Specialist will need to travel based on the global project demand. Both domestic and international travel is required (roughly once a month), and sometimes at short notice, where you will be onsite at the client for roughly for 1-2 weeks per project.

This person will play a pivotal role at Disguise as the gateway between our technology, the customer and their audience's visual experience.


What you will do:

  • When working on customer projects, you will:
    • Pre-sale stage: work with sales team to understand clients’ need and provide technical insights
    • Design stage: provide Broadcast and XR industry insights to the Solutions Design team and propose innovative solutions to enhance user experience
    • Pre-production stage: support the project management and creative services team in the technical designs for project installation. Anticipate and resolve potential issues before they escalate. Facilitate communication between teams for a seamless project workflow
    • Customer SetUp/Implementation stage(onsite): set up and optimise the Disguise systems according to technical design and clients needs; on time, within budget, to scope. Delivering customer excellence.
    • Post-production stage: handover and train customer on installed system
  • While you will be focussing on Broadcast and XR, you may also be required to work on other customer verticals such as virtual production, live events, immersive experiences, and other fixed installations. However, Disguise will provide you additional training for these areas if you do not have these secondary industry experiences.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years experience installing and setting-up complex Broadcast technical systems and control interfaces; including hardware, software, and relevant third-party products such as Ross, Grass Valley, Sony
  • Experience working in Sport/Live and News Broadcasting environments
  • Experience using and troubleshooting technical gear related to broadcast production (including cameras, broadcast switcher, networking)
  • Experience managing 3-4 client projects concurrently, to budget, on time, and to a high quality
  • Experience working on and travelling to client sites
  • Up to date knowledge with the latest trends in the Broadcast and XR industry
