Job Description
Copywriter and Editor
Location: Remote (EST Preferred)
Duration: 6 months; high potential to extend
Pay Rate: Up to $40/hour, DOE
Planet Interactive is seeking a Copywriter and Editor with high-net-worth product experience or capital markets writing, private banking, financial world writing experience to join our Fortune 500 Financial Services client on a 6-month contract.

What You'll Do

  1. Collaborate with creative teams, business leaders, and subject matter experts to execute written content that supports the firm’s business strategies.
  2. Revise existing materials, ensuring consistent branding and messaging, to maximize impact across marketing initiatives and business development.
  3. Adhere to existing brand guidelines including tone, voice, and research-tested messaging architecture to maintain consistency.
  4. Copy edit and proofread print and digital content to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  5. Translate and version complex financial and workplace topics into digestible pieces that appeal to the target market or audience.
  6. Find and cite qualified references for articles, white papers, and case studies.
  7. Draft language for video scripts, on-screen narratives, ad copy, social posts, blog articles, client communications, graphic briefs, marketing materials, and other content as needed.
  8. Adeptly navigate systems for project management and collaboration according to team processes.
  9. Manage rigorous editorial, subject matter, and regulatory review process for content products.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience.
  3. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  4. Exemplary discretion and judgment.
  5. Knowledge and experience with financial concepts and the finance industry required.
  6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, free of grammatical errors.
  7. Proven copy-editing skills.
  8. Ability to translate complex topics into easily-understood copy using multiple voices and styles.
  9. Knowledge of and experience with the nuances of multi-channel (print, web, email, social, video, audio) content.
  10. Experience in a compliance-driven environment is a plus, but not required.
  11. Excellent time management and self-motivation with the ability to handle multiple projects and switch gears based on project prioritization.
  12. Personal commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and meeting tight deadlines.
