Director of Communications About the Seattle Metro Chamber of Commerce: The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is the largest independent business and employer association in the region. We are a business advocacy organization focused on rebuilding a competitive, equitable, and resilient regional economy. This position requires on-site event presence and hybrid flexibility with manager approval. Position Summary: The Marketing Manager works collaboratively to increase member utilization of Chamber benefits, increase event registrations and attendance, and to support membership growth. This role uses our digital assets, especially the latest technology in email marketing, social media, SMS text, website and our content management system (CMS), to communicate Chamber value, increase membership growth and drive registrations to Chamber events. This versatile, skilled marketing communications lead sets and evaluates key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with the Chamber’s strategic plan. This is a hands-on, technical role fueled by a passion for marketing leadership, cutting-edge tactical ideas and modern, innovative campaigns that deliver WOW results. This role requires weekly in-person and on-location work, based on team meetings and event schedules. Critical Job Functions: The following describes the critical functions of the role but does not list all job responsibilities and duties. Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Participate and lead both in-person and hybrid regular meetings, trainings, and events. Ability to exercise good judgement and excellent collaboration skills to lead department and support company-wide initiatives. Lead with problem solving, solution-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed for periodic morning and evening event attendance. Ability to maintain punctual and regular attendance. Marketing Strategy and Execution Develops, manages and reports results of integrated marketing campaigns to increase Chamber membership and increase member and prospective member registrations for events and programs. Works collaboratively with Communications, Policy, Membership and Events teams and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and complete work. Owns reporting on KPIs of campaign success and uses data to recommend and implement adjustments to marketing strategy. Drives the Chamber’s implementation of its CMS (MemberClicks/Personify) and email marketing software (Mailchimp) to:

Strategize and use the latest technology to map how members and visitors move through the sales funnel. Deliver modern, innovative campaigns to drive registrations to Chamber activities and events. Execute email marketing efforts using built-in platform editors, including designing, copywriting/copyediting, building prospect and engagement lists, and scheduling outreach.

Develops and executes media buying and paid social media strategies for campaigns. Utilizes SMS text marketing to effectively promote events and membership. Manages the events marketing calendar for e-blasts, WordPress website updates, SMS text, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook, ensuring consistent, effective content scheduling and alignment with overall marketing strategies. Takes professional photos and generates live social media posts in real time at Chamber events. Digital Content and Design Creates visually appealing web and email content using built-in platform editors. Implements updates to the Chamber’s new website (redesigned and launched in 2025), with a focus on design, layout and content that improves usability, customer engagement, and lead generation. Ensures website health and visibility by implementing and optimizing website SEO strategies. You demonstrate successful use of the latest marketing tactics across a variety of channels, metric-collecting and SEO technology, as well as experienced in managing digital content. You're efficient at troubleshooting and communicating when things don't go as expected. You can demonstrate that you are forward-thinking, embracing new technologies and efficiencies. Skills and Qualifications: Demonstrated increasing responsibility in managing and implementing digital marketing initiatives. 3 or more years of experience working in a marketing role. Demonstrated excellence in CMS, social media, SMS text, website and email strategy and implementation. Experience with marketing automation software, including custom template creation. Strong written communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail is a must. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage challenging situations and recommend effective solutions to problems. Able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines. This position is based out of our downtown Seattle office with hybrid work options based on manager approval. The Chamber is committed to internal and market equity. The full pay range for this position is $62,743-$90,979 annually, with an anticipated hiring range of $62,743 - $84,000 annually, based on experience.
