Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional, full-time Building Enclosure Consulting & Design Team Leader with an established interest in investigating and restoring various building enclosure systems and experience supervising support staff to complete enclosure assessments, consulting, and design projects on both new construction and existing buildings.
General Duties:
Perform hands-on forensic investigations, condition assessments, develop designs and administer construction of building enclosure systems, which may include documenting distress, performance evaluation, diagnostic field testing, collecting data and samples, and troubleshooting details.
Act as a design and consulting team leader, managing multiple projects and support staff. Assume responsibility for key aspects of projects and complete assignments with limited oversight, with support from other licensed professionals.
Conduct or assist other enclosure team members with design reviews for constructability and durability.
Identify or confirm building enclosure issues/problems and present corrections/solutions. Analyze field data and research modern and historic construction documents, governing codes, and design guidelines to facilitate analysis, problem-solving, and repair design.
Prepare client deliverables, including written reports, construction documents, repair design details, and project specifications, checklists, quality standards, and project billing invoices.
Conduct investigations, inspections, testing, and monitor during installation.
Coordinate and attend construction meetings and conferences. Work directly with project teams, clients, contractors, and other architectural and engineering disciplines to assist in the resolution of building enclosure issues.
Contribute to team objectives regarding personnel development, internal and external industry and professional organization participation.
Skills:
Proficiency with building enclosure systems/designs.
AutoCAD expertise.
Able to maintain records of project costs, billings, and budgets.
Able to prepare proposals and service fees including coordinating scope and pricing for other disciplines (i.e., structural).
Able to manage multiple projects and support staff.
Capable of managing to and achieving deadlines for project deliverables.
Engineering or architecture license preferred, otherwise demonstrated progress towards achieving relevant licensure/certifications.
Compelling technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Team player mindset with a willingness to proactively expand into new roles and responsibilities.
Capable of prioritizing tasks and adjusting to fluctuating demands, maintaining productive business relationships while upholding a high standard of excellence, integrity, and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in architecture, engineering, or related field.
A minimum of 10+ years of building envelope construction and/or consulting experience.
Roofing or building enclosure credential preferred.

Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and safely work at elevated heights (roofs, lifts, etc.) are required. Must also be able to operate a motor vehicle. Certification to operate a lift is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
