Data Analyst, Disney Advertising Data and Measurement Science

Supporting the Disney Advertising organization within Entertainment and Sports, the Data and Measurement Science team are subject matter experts in each of the following areas:

  • Creating and optimizing audience segmentation models that enable us to reach specific audiences based on brand affinities, app behavior, and video viewership among other things
  • Examining other ways to expand audience sizes and depth through look-alike modeling of behaviors within our own network of digital properties
  • Analyzing the performance of audiences in real-world campaigns and optimizing audience usage and composition

Job Summary:

We’re looking for an intellectually curious, business-savvy, analytical powerhouse to join the Disney Advertising Data and Measurement Science Team as a Data Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for driving data-driven opportunities across Disney Advertising’s portfolio of offerings. Working collaboratively across functions, you will develop, drive, and build new tools and analyses to ensure the growth of the business and the overall bottom line.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Help grow a multichannel advertising technology capability by leveraging internal and external datasets to expand our reach within and across platforms
  • Analyze complex data sets representing millions of users to understand user behavior and identify key characteristics of groups of users to better define audience segments
  • Balance business timelines with scientific rigor to improve decision making while working in an MVP (minimum viable product) model environment
  • Review results from and provide feedback on controlled experiments to test hypotheses and improve best practices across the organization
  • Build reporting tools to enable self-service for sales teams
  • Work with internal stakeholders to define analytics needs and scope projects

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • B.A. or B.S. (graduate degree a plus) in a quantitative field (Math/Statistics, CS, Engineering, Business, Economics, experimental science, or similar)
  • 3+ years of experience driving measurable results (monetization, engagement) with digital products across various business models
  • Experience with complex, large-scale relational databases, statistical programs, and other tools (SQL, SAS, R, etc.) with an aptitude to learn other technical applications quickly to compile and interpret quantitative data
  • Experience building complex visualizations (Tableau, Looker a plus)
  • Innovative thinker capable of operating both in a strategic capacity (big-picture perspective, asks "why") and a hands-on/execution capacity (detail-oriented, conscientious)
  • Ability to confidently translate quantitative analyses into compelling and actionable recommendations
  • Great communication and teamwork skills

The hiring range for this position in California is $95,300 to $127,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
