Meet the Team Our Communications team delivers effective communications to support ZERO’s brand and mission initiatives through strategic internal, external, social media, and crisis communications. Our team is proficient in all facets of digital communications, media, and public relations. We utilize available channels and tools while also creating new ones. We collaborate with business units across ZERO to position the company exceptionally, providing integrated strategic marketing and communications planning and support and delivering exceptional ROI. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Elevate Communication: Proactively support and enhance communication efforts by crafting compelling press releases, engaging blog posts, and timely internal news updates. Edit and refine communications copy as assigned that aligns with ZERO’s strategic goals. Champion the ZERO Brand: Effectively manage and amplify the ZERO brand identity and voice, ensuring it resonates powerfully across all platforms and communication materials. Empower Key Internal Stakeholders and assigned business unit leads with effective communications content and materials that advance ZERO goals and objectives and foster a strong company culture. Cultivate Strong Relationships with external vendors, including media outlets, ZERO’s PR agency, videographers, and photographers, to enhance the deployment of communication activities. Create engaging and dynamic content to elevate ZERO events and significant milestones. Measure Impact and Refine Strategies: Identify key performance indicators, evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications efforts, and utilize both qualitative and quantitative feedback to consistently enhance strategies and ensure they align with ZERO’s evolving business needs. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of communications experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector, with a proven track record of leading large-scale internal/external communications initiatives in fast-paced environments. Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging messages that resonate with diverse audiences. Proven track record of building and executing communications content that supports business goals drives employee engagement, and fosters company culture. Collaborative and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to partner across departments, influence key stakeholders, and drive initiatives forward autonomously. Exceptional project management skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. A data-driven approach to communication, with experience measuring the impact of initiatives and refining strategies based on feedback and performance metrics. Preferred Qualifications: Exceptional attention to detail, a strong understanding of media monitoring tools such as Cision, Google Workspace, Slack and other social media tools as well as the ability to convey complex topics effectively. Ability to succeed in a collaborative environment and eagerness to pitch in to get the job done. An entrepreneurial spirit, including the ability to work independently and autonomously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strategic thinking, along with analytical and organizational skills, exemplifies excellence in tactical execution. Exercises good judgment, a talent for diplomacy, and experience in communications project management. Confidence to engage and build consensus with multiple stakeholder and functional leaders at various levels. Physical Requirements: Frequent use of a computer and other office equipment, including printers, calculators, and copiers. Prolonged periods of a stationary position at least 50% of the time. The ability to recognize details at close range for extended periods of time. The ability to distill, disseminate, and communicate information and ideas in a way that others can easily understand and build upon. This remote position allows candidates to reside anywhere in the United States. Travel may be required approximately 5% of the time.
