About The Team The Research team at Etsy helps inspire product and business decisions, using multi-methods research to guide the development of buyer and seller experiences in our dynamic marketplace of unique items. Our research operations team works across both product and market research. We collaborate with researchers and our partners through all stages of research, and strive to build an operating center of excellence which empowers researchers to deliver high quality, impactful insights at scale. Our ReOps team is made up of coordinators and program managers based in the US and CDMX.

About The Role The Etsy Research team helps inspire product and business decisions, using data to improve the experiences of current and prospective Etsy customers. We advocate a user-centered approach to design in partnership with designers, product, and marketing teams across Etsy. Our research obsesses over understanding who we’re building for, and how Etsy fits into their lives. To continue this, we’re looking for an experienced Research Coordinator to join our small but mighty Research Operations team to further support our work. Our Research Operations team plays a critical role in enabling our researchers to produce the insights at scale that Etsy needs to move the business forward, and this role is critical in helping us do that. In this role, you'll help to recruit and coordinate for research studies of various criteria. The coordination may include recruiting from a database, using a research tool, or collaborating with other teams to identify the right participants. You may also help to establish and maintain team-wide programs and operations, including helping to create and manage processes to support research logistics for the team. You’re a problem solver who takes ownership of team processes and programs, and has the ability to understand the researcher's needs and dynamics as they evolve. You have research recruitment experience, as well as a working knowledge of the research process and popular research tools. You’re hyper-organized, a deft communicator, and able to manage multiple complex recruits simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

Coordinating the recruiting and screening of participants for research studies Understanding recruit needs, and drafting + programming tailored screeners Recruiting customers from our research participant database Adhering to data privacy and governance policies Managing the A-Z of logistics to keep research projects on track, such as: Managing research participant schedules and communications with researchers and partner teams Coordinating day-of logistics for research days Tracking and managing research operational items (e.g. NDAs, gift cards, facilities requests) Managing external partners and vendors Collaborating closely with recruitment vendors to recruit prospective buyers and sellers Identifying and vetting outside research partners, vendors, and tools for the team Owning the internal procurement and approval process (working closely with legal and finance) Handling tool licensing and renewals Maintaining team resources Crafting team documentation and templates for a variety of topics ranging from team values to the recruiting process Auditing team operations and processes to identify areas of improvement Developing instructions and/or training materials for various tools and tasks

Qualifications:

Must-Haves

1 - 2+ years experience recruiting and coordinating for research You have a general understanding of privacy laws and policies, and how to apply them to your work You have built resources for research teams, and know how to maintain them Experience recruiting via database and/or research tooling (e.g. User Interviews, UserTesting, Dscout) You are familiar with research tools and how to work with them (e.g. User Interviews, UserTesting, Dscout) Experience working with Slack and Google Drive Experience building and maintaining resources for the research team Experience with data privacy laws and processes UserTesting, Dscout, User Interviews or other research tools experience Experience working with researchers directly on recruiting and coordinating a study

Nice-to-Haves

Experience working with analysts or quantitative researchers Experience with SQL or Database querying and troubleshooting Vendor management experience International research experience

Hours and Location

Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week Remote or hybrid in Brooklyn, NY
