Associate Tech Designer (Temp-to-Perm)

to join their dynamic Design team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about fashion design, technical specifications, and production processes. Salary/Hourly Rate: $25/hr Position Overview: The Associate Tech Designer will play a key role in supporting the design team by ensuring the technical integrity of the brand's collections. The ideal candidate will work closely with the design, patternmaking, and production teams to translate creative concepts into technical packages that are both beautiful and functional. This is a fast-paced role where attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential. Responsibilities of the Associate Tech Designer (Temp-to-Perm):

Assist in the creation of technical specifications for garments, including detailed construction, measurements, and materials.

Collaborate with the design team to ensure that designs are technically feasible and align with the brand’s standards.

Support the development of tech packs and ensure accurate garment measurements, stitching details, and construction methods.

Communicate with patternmakers and production teams to ensure prototypes meet technical specifications and fit expectations.

Update and maintain technical documentation, ensuring accuracy across all stages of product development.

Participate in fitting sessions, documenting feedback, and ensuring adjustments are made accordingly.

Help with the quality control process by reviewing garment samples for consistency and accuracy in construction.

Stay informed on current trends in fashion technology, tools, and production techniques.

Manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.

Required Experience/Skills for the Associate Tech Designer (Temp-to-Perm):

1 - 2 years of experience in a tech design or similar role within the fashion industry.

Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and patterns.

Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel.

Solid understanding of fit and pattern making.

Ability to create and interpret tech packs.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Associate Tech Designer (Temp-to-Perm):

Experience with PLM systems is a plus.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience is required.
