Our client is looking for a Cardiology Editor responsible for assigning and editing medical news content specifically related to cardiology, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and relevance for a physician audience. The Cardiology Editor will be working closely with the Cardiology team and reporting to the Editorial Director. This position requires knowledge of the field of cardiology; solid editing skills, and attention to detail. This person must meet tight deadlines and collaborate with a large, fast-moving content team in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities:

-Brainstorm new, fresh, and creative angles in the field of Cardiology

-Assign, and edit Cardiology articles that appeal to a well-versed audience of cardiologists and other cardiology-related specialties

-Work closely with our marketing teams to create interesting newsletters and promotional content

-Work with our operations teams to get content published promptly

-Find new, fresh, and creative angles to stories about various health conditions

-Support the Cardiology and Campaigns teams on special projects

Required Skills:

-5+ years in health content editing

-Extensive knowledge of the cardiology field; 5+ years of cardiology content experience

-Experience assigning clearly-defined story ideas to freelancers

-High productivity evidenced in the ability to meet deadlines

-Ability to edit stories for accuracy, balance, timeliness, and relevance

-High reliability and ability to take direction and run with it

-Flexibility and creativity to meet the needs of a growing multimedia news team in a competitive environment.

-Detail-oriented and deadline-focused with solid proofreading skills

-Ability to clearly and succinctly translate medical jargon and academic speak to a Client audience

Required Education:

-Bachelor's degree in English, biology, or other relevant area
