Key Responsibilities

  • Explore new technologies in textiles, sustainable materials, and smart fabrics to revolutionize bridalwear.
  • Research 3D draping, digital prototyping, and AI-assisted design techniques for future collections.
  • Experiment with laser-cut lace, heat-bonded embellishments, 3D printing, and innovative beading methods to enhance product differentiation.
  • Stay ahead of global fashion, bridal, and eveningwear trends, identifying gaps where Justin Alexander can lead in innovation.
  • Collaborate with fabric mills, textile scientists, and production teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible in bridal fashion.

Design Development & Execution

  • Create sketches, CAD illustrations, and 3D mockups that align with seasonal themes and innovation goals.
  • Develop modern, fresh silhouettes that feel bridal but also push the industry forward.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Design Director, Merchandising, and Technical Development Teams to ensure concepts are feasible for production.
  • Work with patternmakers and seamstresses to test new construction techniques and improve garment performance.

New Category Expansion

  • Contribute to the design of new product lines beyond traditional bridal gowns, including:
  • modern, alternative bridalwear, expanding into new demographics
  • High-tech wedding gowns (lightweight, dynamic, or interactive fabrics)
  • Work with Merchandising & Sales to ensure new categories are commercially viable and scalable.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnerships

  • Work closely with Merchandising & Sales to ensure innovation aligns with market demand and customer preferences.
  • Partner with Marketing & Digital Teams to create strong storytelling around innovative designs.
  • Collaborate with production teams & suppliers to ensure materials and techniques meet cost and quality standards.

Quality & Fit Excellence

  • Ensure all designs meet Justin Alexander’s standards of fit, construction, and luxury craftsmanship.
  • Work with fit models, patternmakers, and production teams to test new construction techniques and enhance garment structure.
  • Participate in sample reviews and quality control assessments to refine designs before production.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design (Bridal, Couture, Eveningwear, or similar focus).
  • 0-3 years of experience in fashion design, preferably with exposure to bridal or luxury apparel.
  • Strong technical skills in garment construction, pattern-making, and draping.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D, and other CAD software.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and innovative textile applications.
  • A portfolio showcasing cutting-edge designs, technical innovation, and a strong sense of aesthetics.
  • Passion for pioneering new materials, technologies, and techniques in bridal fashion.
  • A strong eye for modern bridal trends, couture detailing, and future-forward silhouettes.
  • Knowledge of fabric properties, garment construction, and digital design tools.
