Our client, a machine manufacturing company, is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join their team. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be part of the Product Engineering Team supporting Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in design/detailing of assembly drawings working with sheet metal and stainless-steel documenting Engineered to Order or client specific custom equipment. Above average competency using current Solidworks CAD software. Primary skills will be required in modification of existing designs. This is a contract status position. It is suggested that candidates live local to the Milwaukee area and particularly the western suburbs of Milwaukee.

Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Location: Oconomowoc, WI

Pay: $38-$43/hr. plus OT, benefits

Key Responsibilities

  1. Self-check drawings for accuracy of dimension, details, fits and tolerances.

  2. Write Engineering Changes and revise drawings, schematics, and bills of material.

  3. Prepare and assist with advanced order material requisitions.

  4. Communicate with Production, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to ensure drawings optimize production and purchasing demands.

  5. ERP (Enterprise resource planning) navigation and bill of material entry.

Requirements

  1. Proficiency with computers, and 3D CAD design.

  2. Drawings and documents that are consistently accurate, complete, understandable, and finished in reasonable time.

  3. Intermediate or basic knowledge of products, materials, codes, and standards, to make correct decisions where independent judgments are needed.

  4. Meticulous attention to details to ensure: Accuracy of design, proper material selection, serviceability, reasonable cost, and completeness for manufacturing and purchasing.

  5. Thorough review of own work to reduce rework.
