We have partnered with a B2B SaaS organization based in Portland, OR to recruit a Junior Product (UX/UI) Designer to join their team on an ongoing (targeting 6+ months), fully remote contract basis. This team is continuing to build their internal UX/UI function for a variety of projects and brands within their ecosystem, and they are excited to bring on a team member with 6+ months of relevant UX/UI experience. Tangible examples of corporate UX/UI work across web, mobile and/or app experience is required, and this role is a great fit for someone recently out of a certification or similar program focused on this space. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of UX and UI design work, from small changes and updates in collaboration with other designers and technical teams, to larger scale wireframing and prototyping work. You will support all ends of the UX/UI process, from research, testing, journeys, wireframing, prototyping and more. This organization is still defining their design system, so you will have a voice in that process as well!

This team offers best-in-class culture and empowers their team members to provide feedback and have a voice in the product design process. Our organization has placed several long-term contractors on this team who have either been extended or converted to permanent employees. This is a W2 contract with payroll and benefits through LHH, with hourly pay ranging heavily based on experience, between $35 to $40 an hour, depending on level and relevant experience. They are open to hiring anywhere in the United States, but have a preference for PST based candidates, as this role will work a set PST schedule.

You will:

  • Partner with UX/UI designers, dev/engineering, product managers and company leadership to build and flush out IA and user flows
  • Work on a variety of UX and UI projects, including carrying existing wireframes into high-fidelity mocks, build new wireframes, etc.
  • Leverage Figma for design and prototyping work
  • Aid the team in building on a first-ever design system for the product
  • Use JIRA for project management and ticket management

Your profile should include:

  • 6+ months of UX/UI design experience with an understanding of the process from research to go-live, specifically focused on web projects
  • Experience in SaaS product design, highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Certificate or dedicated UX/UI education experience, strongly preferred
  • In-depth technical experience, including strong Figma experience; Experience in JIRA, HTML, CSS strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with a team-player mentality; This group does a volume of cross-functional communication across teams and geographies
  • Ability to hunt and gather information as needed; Being resourceful is a key to success on this team
