The Sr. Technical Designer is responsible for driving and managing the Fit Process for Knits & Sweaters category while in compliance with the company SOPs, protocols, financial goals & initiatives. The Technical Designer will execute design intent within PD cycle (development to TOP) efficiently, while perfecting the fit.

Role & Key Responsibilities:

Technical Packages: Serve as the expert of the assigned product category. Work with Design and product development teams to develop target measurements and construction details. Communicate Proto, Fit & PPS comments clearly and accurately via photos, sketches & pattern corrections. Execute the Curve version of Regular styles. Update the Technical Package with any changes during the fit process. Release accurate graded specs. Garment Evaluation: Ensure the quality level and design aesthetic of all samples meets the expected brand quality standards. Ensure garment is measured prior to fitting. Review accuracy and quality of construction of all garments. Attend/lead fittings to review fit and balance. Advise optimal methods to resolve problems and perfect fit. Pin garment to desired shape. Take detailed pictures and notes in fitting sessions. Communication: Partner with Design, Merchandising and Sourcing teams to maintain design integrity, stay on calendar and retain cost. Partner with agents, vendors and factories to execute timely sampling and production that meets expected brand quality standards. Comments must be precise and thorough: state the problem and state the suggested solution. Knowledge & Skills:

Strong analytical skills. Ability to interact with all levels of the company. Solid knowledge of finishing, factory machinery and production processes. Ability to analyze garment fit on live model & dress form. Solid understanding of garment balance and how to achieve it. Ability to communicate fit corrections via photos, sketches, measurements and written comments. Ability to translate a flat sketch into measurements. Basic pattern evaluation & correction skills. Ability to measure garments & calculate changes. Knowledge of different yarns & stitches and how fit is affected. Basic understanding of markers, yields, costing and construction trims. Ability to work independently and with a team. Ability to work, communicate and build relationships with vendors and internal teams. MS Office knowledge and experience. Advanced grammar and communication skills.
